Gala Coral and Responsible Gambling
September 1st 2007 saw the full implementation of the new Gambling Act 2005.
This new Act established the Gambling Commission, with whom Gala Coral are proud to work. The Act brought additional areas of gambling under the Commission's regulatory control.
Consequently, Gala Coral's four divisions, namely Gala Casinos, Gala Bingo, Coral and our E-Commerce business - coral.co.uk and Eurobet.com, now fall under one single Regulator.
The Gambling Act has introduced three licensing objectives, and has running through it, the theme of responsible gambling.
The three licensing objectives focus on keeping the gambling industry crime free, ensuring that gambling is conducted in a fair and open way, and protecting children and other vulnerable persons from being harmed or exploited by gambling.
Gala Coral fully supports and welcomes these objectives. Gala Coral have an approved Responsible Gaming Strategy which incorporates and reflects these licensing objectives and our company has received full GamCare accreditation across all four divisions. Promoting Responsible Gambling is of paramount importance to us. The Group has also reviewed its operating procedures so as to ensure compliance with the new Act. We have integrated the requirements of the Gambling Commission into our business procedures and processes which includes extensive training of all our employees from all parts of the business.
Gala Coral are also one of the main supporters of RiGT (Responsibility in Gambling Trust) whose role it is to provide support to educate people about problem gambling and we are proud to work with them going forward.
Gala Coral look forward to remaining the leading provider gambling services across Europe operting in a highly ethical way; providing fun for its customers whilst ensuring the highest standards in integrity, compliance and responsible gambling.
